Obituary of Andrew Spiwak

Click here to watch the tribute video SPIWAK- Andrew B. Spiwak, age 82, beloved husband of Sadie Bushnell of Ansonia, died January 11, 2008 at CT Hospice, Branford. Born in Derby on November 2, 1925, he was the son of the late Frank and Stephania Behuniak Spiwak. Mr. Spiwak was a Lifelong valley resident, a member of the CT Carpenters Association and U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a communicant of Assumption Church, as well as an avid golfer and member of Hop Brook Country Club. In addition to his wife of seven years, he is survived by his devoted children, Maureen Snarski and her husband, William of AZ, Linda Komarowsky of Beacon Falls, Judith Struwas and her husband, Michael of Seymour and John Spiwak and his wife Jill of Beacon Falls; brothers, Max Spiwak of Derby and John Spiwak of Washington, D.C.; sister, Esther Phair of FL; grandchildren, Catherine Snarski of AZ, Nicholas and Daniel Komarowsky, and Rachel & Jay Spiwak all of Beacon Falls. Mr. Spiwak was predeceased by his first wife of 43 years, Catherine Bashura Spiwak; brothers, Ted and Nick Spiwak, sisters, Helen Karasinski, Mary Richo and Ann Student. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 9:30 A.M. from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, CT 06401. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 A.M. in Assumption Church, 61 North Cliff St., Ansonia. Interment with Military Honors will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
