Obituary of Maria Gebuza

GEBUZA- Maria Gebuza, age 85, of Shelton, wife of the late Peter Gebuza, died peacefully on May 8, 2011 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Rychwald, Poland on April 12, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Wasyl and Marta Dokla Gebuza. Mrs. Gebuza immigrated to the U.S. in 1966 and has since been a resident of Shelton. She was devoted parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and was an employee of Better Packages and then Gardener Heights Health Care Center, where she retired in 1991. She is survived by her devoted son, Stefan Gebuza and a daughter, Jaroslawa (Wasyl) Sembrat, all of Shelton; a brother, Szymon (Sefania) Gebuza of Darien, brothers Peter and Stefan Gebuza of Ukraine, and a sister Anna (Michael) Kowal of Shelton; cherished grandchildren, Maria (Bruce) Belco and John Sembrat, all of Shelton; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Alexis, Bryce and Tylor of Shelton; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Amelia Gebuza, son, Josyf Gebuza, a sister, Barbara Warholic and brothers, Michael and Ivan Gebuza. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Parastas at 6:30 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Sts.
