Obituary of Mary Kopchik

KOPCHIK- Mary N. Kopchik, age 95 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Michael Kopchik, died January 23, 2011 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Seymour on May 28, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Bayusik Novak. Mrs. Kopchik was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and its Mother's Club, and longtime resident of Ansonia. She worked for the Sikorsky Co. as an assembler and packing technician for over 20 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, find a word puzzles, reading and attending functions at the valley senior centers. Mrs. Kopchik is survived by her devoted son and daughter, Michael R. Kopchik and Sharon E. Kopchik, both of Ansonia; a sister, Virginia Ferencz and her husband, John of Ansonia; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by sisters, Ann Rencsko, Elizabeth Pawlak, Susan Decho and two infant brothers. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Springtime interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Thursday Morning from 9:00 to 9:45 AM. Memorial Contributions may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Church Preservation Fund.
