Obituary of Roman Cyrul

CYRUL- Roman Cyrul, age 85, beloved husband of Josephine Martiska Cyrul of Ansonia, died August 6, 2010 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Ukraine on June 3, 1925, he was the son of the late George and Mary Iwknowech Cyrul. Mr. Cyrul immigrated to the U.S. in 1951 and has been a Ansonia resident for 57 years. He worked as a machinist for the Pop Fasteners-USM Co. of Shelton for 30 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a devoted parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ansonia and a member of its Holy Name Society. In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his loving son, Daniel R. Cyrul, Sr. and his wife, Margaret of Seymour; and cherished grandchildren, Katherine Cyrul of Washington, D.C., Kristine Yoxall and her husband, David of Prospect and Daniel R. Cyrul, Jr. of Seymour. Mr. Cyrul is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Virginia Martiska of New Milford and Olga Zachariewicz of Cheshire and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cyrul was a hardworking, loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial, Meeting Directly at Church, will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Roof Renovation Fund.
