Obituary of Rose Pepiuk

PEPIUK-Rose Pepiuk, age 89, of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Walter Pepiuk, entered into eternal rest in the comfort of her home with her family by her side on July 11, 2010. Born in Kodnia, Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late Fedor and Horpina Vizniuk Andrietz. Mrs. Pepiuk was a Seymour resident for over 60 years before moving, with her daughter to Texas 4 years ago to be closer to her family. She was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, an avid gardener, and worked as a seamstress until the time of her retirement. At the age of 55, she proudly earned her GED. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Julie C. Lurix, with whom she resided; granddaughters, Deidre Wolf of TX and Linda Jacobs of CO; a sister, Tamara Kociuba of Ukraine; and three cherished great-grandchildren, David, Aaron and Alexis Wolf. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Pepiuk was predeceased by a brother and three sisters. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave, Ansonia. Interment will directly follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Thursday, July 15, 2010, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Parastas Service will be held at 6:30PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Preservation Fund.
