Stanley S. Mikita, II, age 89 of Ansonia, beloved husband of the late Marlene V. Quinn Mikita, died peacefully on November 3, 2024, in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center, Stratford surrounded by his family.  Born in Bridgeport on October 11, 1935, he was the son of the late Stanley S. and Irene Demers Mikita.  Mr. Mikita was raised in Trumbull and served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves.  He was an Ansonia resident since 1962 and worked as an electrical planner and leadman for Sikorsky Aircraft Co. for 42 years, until his retirement in 1997.  Stan and Marlene also belonged to the Sikorsky Retirement Friendship Club and were blessed to take many wonderful trips with the groups of retirees. Simultaneously, Mr. Mikita worked independently as a licensed locksmith when not at Sikorsky.  He enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandchildren, photography and spending time at home with his wife and family. Together with his wife and grandchildren, they made memorable trips to the mall, movies and toy stores, as well as vacations and their many, many sleepovers, beautiful memories.

Mr. Mikita is survived by devoted children, James W. (Nancy) Mikita, William G. (Linda) Mikita and Marlene V. (Gary) Lanzaro (who were honored to provide him the loving care that he deserved for almost 8 years, as they did with his wife, Marlene) all of Ansonia; cherished grandchildren, Stanley S. Mikita IV of Waterbury, Lisa M. Cordone of Milford, James W. (Danielle) Mikita, Jr. of Ansonia, Timothy J. (Fiancé, Andressa) Mikita of Seymour, William G. (Heather) Mikita, II of Waterbury, David P. Mikita of Norwalk and Michelle L. Mikita of Ansonia; great-grandchildren, Cooper J. Cordone, James W. Mikita III, Adrienne C. Mikita and William G. Mikita III; as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife of 67 years, Mr. Mikita was predeceased by a son, Stanley S. Mikita, III and a brother, Gilbert R. Mikita.

A memorial service will be announced in the future.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
