Obituary of Lori Lynn Fassbender

Lori Williamson Fassbender, age 57, of Oxford, CT, beloved wife of the late William John Fassbender III, died peacefully on November 6, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, just 11 days following her husband’s death.  Born in Arlington Heights, IL on September 19, 1967, she was the daughter of Linda Bergquist Williamson of Cheshire and the late Bruce Williamson.  Mrs. Fassbender was raised in Ridgefield, CT and was a 1985 graduate of Ridgefield High School.  Lori found her passion in caring for others while working as a surgical technician, and studied nursing at the St. Vincent’s School of Nursing, where she earned her Nursing degree. Mrs. Fassbender was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent’s Medical Center for over 30 years, until the time of her illness.  She cared for countless patients on the cardiac and mental health floors and considered her many coworkers as her St. V’s family. Mrs. Fassbender was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, in Seymour, CT. She loved Caribbean cruises and jaunts to Mohegan Sun where she loved the fantastic shows and concerts. She especially enjoyed boating with her family on Candlewood Lake and any time spent at the beach.  She will be long remembered for her special love for and devotion to her family.  In addition to her mother, Linda, she is survived by her precious daughter, Isabella “Bella” Lailahny Fassbender, her stepson, William “Billy” J. Fassbender IV and his partner Tina Kewalis, all of Oxford; devoted brothers, Chaplain (Lt.Col.) Donald Williamson and his wife Susan of Germany, Daniel Williamson and his wife Michelle of Salem, CT and Dr. Douglas Williamson and his wife Dr. Karen of Ohio; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.  In addition to her father and husband of 28 years, she was predeceased by a brother Todd Williamson.  A springtime memorial service in celebration of Lori and Bill’s lives will be announced by the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
