Obituary of Cecil Augustas Lampley

Cecil Augustas Lampley, age 78, beloved husband to Gloria Vandeyar Lampley of Ansonia, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.  Born in Georgetown, Guyana on March 14, 1946, he was the son of the late Bertrand and Sheila Adams Lampley.  Mr. Lampley immigrated to the U.S. in 2009, settling in the valley.  He enjoyed a long career as a skilled woodworker, until the time of his retirement. He was known among his fellow craftsmen as the best woodworker of his time.  In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by his eight children, Patricia Griffith, Sonia (Shane) Anthony, Cecil Lampley  Jr., Elizabeth (Alvin) John, Anthony (Dhanmattie) John, David John, Raymond John and Anita John; grandchildren, Jermario, JD Griffith, Kimberley Robinson, Steven Eastman, Kayla Holmes, DeLisa and Dylan John; sisters, Margaret, Esther Lampley and Pauline Hicks; and brothers, Floyd, Clifton, David, Peter and Lennox Lampley.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  A funeral service will take place at 3:00 PM.  Interment will be private.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com
