Rose McCormack

Obituary of Rose McCormack

Rose McCormack, 74, a lifelong resident of Ansonia, died on March 22, 2010. The youngest child of Russian immigrants Peter and Pelagia Noga, Rose had fond memories of growing up on Broad Street with her 8 siblings. The Nogas moved to Myrtle Avenue to a new home and new friends, including her oldest and dearest friend Margaret "GiGi" Petro. While Rose was in secretarial school she met the love of her life - James McCormack and they began their journey together. Jim truly cherished Rose and they married on July 25, 1959. Together they achieved the American Dream purchasing their own home where they raised three children: Kathleen, Edward and Maureen. Rose worked in manufacturing at various companies including Samarius Electronics and Tie Communications where she made innovations in her field and found many new friends. Rose was also a true artist who loved to create abstract art drawings. She found an outlet for that expression by making incredibly intricate and beautiful "Pysanky" Easter eggs. Rose was known for making great spaghetti sauce, she was a founding member of the VFW Ladies Auxilliary and she loved trips to Mohegan Sun Casino. Rose had a dry sense of humor, loved animals, and was proud of her children. Rose and Jim enjoyed traveling throughout their lives and she follows him on her final journey. Rose is survived by daughter Kathleen McCormack Carey and her three children Samantha, Reily, and Trevor; son Edward McCormack and his wife Michele and their daughter Desiree; daughter Maureen McCormack-Conrado and her husband Heliodoro "Conrad" Conrado; sister Mary Hunter and brother Stephen Noga. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Parastas Service will be held at 7:00PM.
