Obituary of Edward Robert Zarucha Jr.

Edward Robert Zarucha, Jr., age 80, beloved husband of Angela Garzo Zarucha of Shelton, died peacefully on July 6, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, with his family by his side.  Born in Teaneck, NJ on July 8, 1942, he was the son of the late Edward Robert Zarucha, Sr. and Lillian Schultz Zarucha.  Mr. Zarucha was raised in Palisades Park, NJ and relocated to Monroe, CT in 1977, prior to moving to Shelton in 2000.  Mr. Zarucha earned B.A. and M.A. degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University and worked as the Director of Marketing for Richardson Vicks Inc. for 25 years.  In 1985, the Vicks corporation was purchased by Proctor & Gamble, where he continued his career until the time of his retirement in 1993.  Mr. Zarucha was an avid sports enthusiast and a diehard fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants.  A health conscience individual, he was often found reading about improving one’s physical and mental wellbeing and was a passionate collector of antique horse figurines & memorabilia.   In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Michelle Zarucha of East Haven and Edward R. Zarucha III and his wife, Sarah of Seymour; cherished grandchildren, Allie Buscarello, Jonathan Buscarello and Logan Buscarello, all of East Haven.  He was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Zarucha.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
