Obituary of Stephanie Hylwa

HYLWA- Stephanie "Stella" Hylwa, age 92 of Ansonia, died March 19, 2010 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Ansonia on April 10, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Tecla Ciok Hylwa. Miss Hylwa was a lifelong resident of Ansonia and Communicant of Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Prior to retirement, she worked as a Millinery Designer for many years in New York City. She is survived by her devoted sister, Helen Zelinsky of Ansonia, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, William, John and Andrew Hylwa and sisters, Esther and Mary Hylwa, and Ann Felock. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 9:15 A.M. from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia, at 10:00A.M. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Monday, March 22, 2010, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
