Obituary of Lillian A. Fusco

Lillian A. Fusco, age 98 of Shelton, died peacefully on April 4, 2023, at the Bishop Wicke Health and Rehab Center, Shelton.  Born in Bridgeport April 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Anna Rich Izzo.  Ms. Fusco was a longtime resident of Fairfield, before moving to Shelton three years ago.  She worked as an office administrator for the Xerox Corporation at the Stamford location for 15 years, until her retirement in 1990.  Ms. Fusco was a member of the Elks Lodge #2220, BPOE Fairfield and was a Past President of the Fairfield Emblem Club. She enjoyed several diverse hobbies including knitting & crocheting, bowling, gardening and was an active volunteer for the Special Olympics.  She is survived by her devoted children, Marilynn Leeney and her husband, Kenneth of Shelton and Richard Fusco and his wife, Laurie of Shelton; cherished grandchildren, James Leeney and his wife, Laura of Milford, Robert Leeney and his wife, Tina of Wolcott, Nicholas Fusco and his wife, Dana of Southbury and Angela Fusco of Shelton; and great-grandchildren, Shayla and Olivia Leeney, Anthony DiBiaggio, Victoria Flowers, Jake Fusco, Makenzie Fusco and Charlie Fusco.  She was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Gagliardi, Eleanor Atkinson, Frances Settani and a brother, Louis Izzo, Jr.  Funeral services and interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia, will be private.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, CT is in care of arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Connecticut, 2666 State Street, Suite #1, Hamden, CT 06517-2232 www.soct.org.
