Obituary of Chris A. Casner
Chris A. Casner, age 65 of Ansonia, died peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Milford Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born on May 25, 1957, he was the son of the late Clifford W. and Helen Machnicz Casner, Sr. Mr. Casner was raised in Clinton and was a graduate of Morgan High School. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of New Haven, School of Engineering and was employed as a Materials Engineer at Sikorsky for 39 years, until the time of his illness. He was a passionate fisherman and boater and found great solace on the waters of the Connecticut Shoreline. Mr. Casner was a member of the Westbrook Elks Lodge, 1784 B.P.O.E. and enjoyed watching NFL football games. He was a handy D.I.Y. craftsman, always working on home projects and found great interest in the historical architecture of New England homes. Above all, he will be long remembered as a devoted and caring father and for his special love of his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved companion of 20 years, Laura Stadelman of Milford; his children, Kyle M. Casner of Ansonia, Shelby L. Casner and Adam J. Casner, both of NC.; a brother, Clifford W. Casner, Jr. and his wife, Kate of West Haven; sisters, Carole Casner of Rocky Hill, Cheryl Heinrich and her husband, Paul of Cromwell and Claudia Heser of Middletown; cherished grandchildren, Camden Casner and Carson Nedeau; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, prior to the service.
