Obituary of James Edward Rossetti

James Edward Rossetti, Sr., age 83, of Derby, beloved companion of Lois Zeoli of Fishkill, NY, died peacefully on January 30, 2023 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Mr. Rossetti was born on July 3, 1939, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Stella Kobcziak Rossetti.

Mr. Rossetti was a lifelong resident of Derby and a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a carpenter by trade and owned his own successful home remodeling business, that allowed him an early retirement. Together with his companion Lois, they enjoyed an immense amount of traveling and cruising, as well as memorable trips to Texas and Las Vegas.   James and Lois appreciated the beauty of Florida’s west coast and spent many winters in Bonita Springs.

In addition to his companion of 12 years, he is survived by three children, James E. Rossetti, Jr., Patti Pitol and Jeane Saladine, all of La Rochelle, France; brothers, Robert Rossetti of Shelton, David Rossetti of Florida; a sister, Jeanne Debish of Florida; cherished grandchildren, Alec, Luic, Steve, Tina and Sarah all of France; and Yvonne Rossetti of Middlebury.  He was predeceased by a brother, Salvatore Rossetti.

Private entombment will be in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
