Obituary of Samuel Walczuk
WALCZUK- Samuel "George" Walczuk, age 78 of Beacon Falls, formerly a longtime resident of Stamford, died February 24, 2010 in his home following a sudden illness. Born in Stamford on May 30, 1931, he was the son of the late Panko and Mary Cherkowsky Walczuk. Mr. Walczuk was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and worked as a self employed upholsterer and drape maker for many years until his retirement. His professional window treatments and upholstery decorated many fine homes and businesses across Westchester and Fairfield Counties. He was a fan of big band music, frequently listened to classic jazz and enjoyed cooking. He is survived by his beloved brother with whom he resided, Paul Walczuk of Beacon Falls; a devoted niece, Cheryl Tritto and her husband, Frank of Bridgeport; devoted nephews, Ronald Walczuk and wife Farrah of Norwalk, Robert Walczuk and his wife, Donna of CA, and John Walczuk and his wife Kathy of KS; as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Harry and William Walzcuk and sisters, Eleanor Walczuk and Anne Bawlick. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford. Family and friends may call on Wednesday Morning prior to Mass.
