Obituary of Josephine A. Dutkanych

Josephine A. Dutkanych, age 93 of Naugatuck, beloved wife of the late Andrew Dutkanych, died peacefully on December 20, 2016 at the Glendale Heathcare Center with her family by her side. Born in Choccoloco, AL on December 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Eunice Morgan Wheeler. Mrs. Dutkanych worked as a Supply Room Clerk for the Hewitt Health and Rehab Center of Shelton for over 27 years, until the time of her retirement in 1987. She was a former resident of Seymour for over 60 years, a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and the Ansonia Senior Center. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Deborah Lester of Naugatuck, a daughter-in-law, Helena Dutkanych of FL; cherished grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Kuba of West Haven, Andrew (Caroline) Dutkanych III of IN and Bradley (Erika) Dutkanych of FL; 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 46 years, she was predeceased by a son, Andrew Dutkanych; a sister and 2 brothers. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.
