Obituary of Anthony Frank Puro

Anthony Frank Puro, age 70, of Seymour, died suddenly on October 5, 2016 at Griffin Hospital Derby. Born in Derby, on March 27, 1946, he was the son of the late Frank and Sophie Ptak Puro. Mr. Puro was a longtime Derby resident, prior to residing in Seymour for over 25 years. A man with an outstanding work ethic, he was a brick layer for many years and an employee of over 20 years at the W.E. Bassett Co., until retiring in 1996. He was a kind hearted man, always sacrificing for others and willing to help anyone in need. He was a devout Catholic and a regular viewer of the TV Mass; he enjoyed vegetable gardening and Italian food, especially lasagna. He is survived by his devoted sister, Anna (Charles) Graham of Ansonia; cousin, Edward Devonshuk of Oxford; nephews, Eric (Lisa) Sardo of Ansonia, Stephen (Gretchen) Sardo of Monroe; and great nieces, Christina, Giovanna and Michelina Sardo. He is also survived by his dear friends, Dianne Stordy of Ansonia and John Sardo of Seymour. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
