Obituary of Beverly W. Livolsi

Beverly W. Livolsi, age 93 of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Anthony G. Livolsi, died peacefully on February 9, 2024 at Griffin Hospital.  Born in Derby on August 9, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Cathryn Purtell West. Mrs. Livolsi was raised in Ansonia and was a graduate of Assumption School and Ansonia High School. Following her high school graduation, she worked as a secretary for the former American Brass Co., taking her leave to become a full-time homemaker and mother.  For many years, Mrs. Livolsi assisted her husband, Tony, working as the bookkeeper of their family business, Livolsi Builders.  Their successful business was responsible for the construction of more than 80 homes, additions and remodeling projects throughout the Valley and Woodbridge areas. In her senior years, she enjoyed working a part-time position at Lear Pharmacy of Ansonia, where she rekindled old friendships with lifelong friends.  Mrs. Livolsi was an avid New York Yankee fan and enjoyed spirited conversations about her favorite team. She also enjoyed watching UCONN basketball.  A devout Catholic, she received her sacraments (including Holy Matrimony in 1952) in the Church of the Assumption, Ansonia, and later watched the daily Mass on television.  Mrs. Livolsi found an entirely new identity as a grandmother and great-grandmother and will be long remembered for her special love for her family.  She is survived by her children, Jon A. Livolsi of Seymour, Renee (Charles, Jr.) Seccombe of Georgia; grandson, Jonathan (Stephanie) Seccombe and great grandchildren Jack, Henry and Lucy of Missouri; grandson Justin (Jennifer) Seccombe and great grandchildren Oliver and Miles of Illinois.  In addition, Mrs. Livolsi is survived by a sister, Mary Grossenbacher of New Milford, several nieces and nephews; best friend, Gayle Warhola, as well as her son’s closest friends who were always there for her and will truly miss her wit and dry sense of humor.  In addition to Tony, her beloved husband of 44 years, she was predeceased by a sister, Alice Young.
