Obituary of Jose Goncalves Esteves

Jose Goncalves Esteves, age 84 of Monroe, died peacefully in his home on September 18, 2023.  Born in Portugal on October 7, 1938, he was the son of the late Jose Joaquin Esteves and Isabel Goncalves Jorge.

He is survived by his devoted sisters, Maria Esteves Rosa of Monroe and Marie Emilia (Manuel) Rua of Bridgeport; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.  He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Jose Rosa.

Friends and family may call on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 11:00 AM, in Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Dr., Ansonia.  Interment will be in Portugal.
