Obituary of Michael Anthony Lucas

Michael Anthony Lucas, age 71, beloved husband of Irene G. Lucas of Bridgeport, died peacefully, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the Curtis Home of Meriden.  Born in Bridgeport on March 2, 1952, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary Prystash Lucas. Mr. Lucas was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport and a graduate of Bullard Havens Vocational Technical School. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, and member of the Stratford VFW Post 9460.  He worked as a self-employed plumbing contractor until his retirement in 2017.  In addition to spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing pool and the outdoors, including fishing and hunting.

In addition to his wife of 23 years, he is survived by a stepson, James J. Corey of Ansonia; step-granddaughter, Melanie Corey of Shelton; step-great-granddaughters, Abigail, Aliana and Ava Valle, all of Shelton; a brother, Clarence Lucas, Jr. of Shelton; and a sister Theresa (Philip) Markey of Florida; a niece, Jennifer Corey of Bridgeport; as well as other nieces & nephews of Shelton.  Mr. Lucas was predeceased by a brother, Walter Lucas.

Family and friends may call at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia on Monday, September 11, 2023 between 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 10:00 am in the funeral home.
