Obituary of Barbara J. Sedlock

Barbara J. Sedlock, age 83, beloved wife of the late of Edward Sedlock, died peacefully on June 21, 2019 at the Bridgeport Hospital Campus of Yale New Haven Health. Born in Bridgeport on November 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Kaminisky Poremba. Mrs. Sedlock worked as a clerical worker for the Sikorsky Co. for many years, until the time of her retirement. She truly enjoyed bus trips to shows, traveling for vacations and frequently attended flea markets. Mrs. Seldock loved to decorate her home for the holidays and was always generous to her family. She is survived by many including her devoted nephew, John Poremba, his wife Deborah and their daughter Erika all of Ansonia, a nephew, Michael Poremba and his wife Elissa, a niece Cynthia Kelm and her husband Ronnie of TX; her sister-in-law’s, Evelyn Poremba of Naugatuck and Shirley Poremba of Shelton. She was cherished by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sedlock was predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Joseph Poremba; her sisters, Mary Ann, Helen, and Irene Poremba; as well as a nephew, Richard Poremba. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 9:00 AM from Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave. Ansonia.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1960 Barnum Ave. Stratford. Internment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, June 24, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
