Obituary of Colleen Heather McConnon

Colleen Heather McConnon, age 50 of Seymour, died peacefully at Griffin Hospital on February 21, 2019.  Born in Meriden, on November 2, 1968, she was the daughter of Marion V. Jablonski McConnon of Seymour. Colleen was raised in Stamford and moved to West Virginia with her family in the 1980’s.  She was a 1986 graduate of Hurricane High School, West Virginia and then returned to CT in 1993 residing in Huntington.  She has been a Seymour resident since 2000. She worked for several companies as a customer and sales support representative, most notably Dun & Bradstreet and Pitney Bowes.  Colleen possessed a complete and lifelong compassion for all animals, including strays, injured wildlife or domestic rescue pets.  An avid hiker, she and Michael her soulmate along with Riley their canine son traversed countless trails throughout New England and into Canada; she loved everything about nature and being in the great outdoors.  In addition to her mother, she is survived by her beloved companion of 25 years, Michael Stowe of Seymour along with his parents Janet and Harvey Stowe of Huntington, his brother, James of Derby and sister, Stacy of NY; an aunt, Teri Sirico of CA; an uncle George McConnon of Plainville; as well as many lifelong friends and extended family She was predeceased by her loving grandparents Adolph and Ann Jablonski of Stamford.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2019 in Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Dr., Ansonia.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia is in care of arrangements.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ansonia Animal Shelter, North Division Street, Ansonia, CT 06401.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
