Obituary of Anna B. Crocker
Anna Budzinski Crocker, age 100, of Milford, died peacefully December 14, 2018 at the CT Hospice, Branford.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert H. Crocker, her parents Alex and Eva Jelasko Budzinski, and her siblings; William Susko, Mary Nedovich, John Budzinski, and Katherine Pawchyk. She is survived by several nieces & nephews, and countless people who thought of her as a ‘fairy godmother.’ She was especially grateful to her caring nephews James (Patricia) Crocker and Alfred (Eileen) Nedovich.
Ann was born September 22nd, 1918, in Orange, Connecticut. She graduated from Orange Center School in 1933 and from Commercial High School in New Haven in 1937. Shortly after World War II began, she took a job as an inspector at Vought – Sikorsky building the famous Corsair fighter planes. For decades she would tell people, “It was the best job I ever had.” In part because it was where she met her husband, Bob, of 35 years. They married September 18th, 1948. In 1953 they built a brand new house in Woodmont where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Throughout her life she was active in numerous social and charitable groups. She was a Milford Red Cross volunteer for over 25yrs, a Milford Hospital volunteer for over 30yrs, a member of Lucia Chapter - Order of Eastern Star for more than 50yrs, a lifetime member of Three Saints Orthodox Church in Ansonia, a member of the Woodmont Congregational Church Women’s Club, a member of the Milford Seniors, a member of the Woodmont Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary for over 30yrs, and was a 2001 recipient of the Milford Living Treasure Award. She loved to watch & play golf and, in her later years, loved cheering on the UCONN men’s and women’s basketball teams.
The greater record that Ann leaves behind is written in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was truly a wonderful person with a seemingly endless source of positive thoughts, a can-do attitude, a generous heart, and a beautiful soul. She lived the kind of life we should all aspire to.
