Obituary of Anne Zuraw
Anne Zuraw, age 98, of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Nicholas Zuraw, died peacefully on December 5, 2018 at Griffin Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Stamford on May 31, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Matrona Hawran Badarick. Mrs. Zuraw was an Ansonia resident of more than 70 years and worked in the environmental services department of Griffin Hospital, until the time of her retirement. She was a devoted member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church where she was a member of the choir, the Ladies Guild, and the Catholic War Veteran’s Aux. Post 1677. Mrs. Zuraw was a member of the League of Ukrainian Catholics and the Ansonia and Derby Senior Centers. She is survived by her devoted children, Marissa A. (Thomas) Nemergut of VT, Nicholas Peter Zuraw of Ansonia, Denis J. Zuraw of Derby, Michael L. (Patricia) Zuraw of Seymour, and Daniel P. (Patricia) Zuraw of Shelton; cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Kimberly Zuraw and great-grandson, Jacob Zuraw, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 66 years, she was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Shirley Berenda Zuraw; sisters, Mildred DiMauro, Tillie Student, Janice Dorus, Helen Skodien, and Elizabeth Burns; and a brother, Peter Badarick. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 10:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Panakhida at 6:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sts.
