Obituary of Richard M. Macedonia

Richard M. Macedonia, age 60, of Oxford, died suddenly on September 5, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital.  Born in Bridgeport on September 9, 1957, he was the beloved son of Evelyn E. Fichtel Macedonia of Oxford and the late Bruno M. Macedonia.  Mr. Macedonia was raised in Bridgeport, graduated from Central High School in 1975, and was a long time resident of Oxford. He worked as a skilled Stone Mason for the State of CT for over 20 years, until his retirement in 2009.  He was a lifelong Harley Davidson enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid NY Yankee’s fan.  He shared a special bond with his only grandson, Hunter and was a model grandfather.  He is survived by a daughter, Marissa (Brandon Kendzierski) Macedonia of Milford; sons, Joseph Macedonia of New Orleans, LA, and Nicolas Macedonia of Oxford; a brother, David (Eleanor) Macedonia of Maryland; and a grandson, Hunter Kendzierski of Milford.  In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Michael Macedonia.  Family and friends may call at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia on Monday, September 10, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  Interment will be private.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Center Volunteer Fire Department, 484 Oxford Road, Oxford, CT 06478.
