Obituary of Florence White Pawlak

Florence White Pawlak, age 90 of Ansonia, wife of the late Walter Pawlak, died peacefully on April 21, 2018 at the Shady Knoll Health Care Center, Seymour.  Born in Everett, Massachusetts on May 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Rhoda Brady Nolan.  Mrs. Pawlak was a Certified Nurse’s Aide employed for over 18 years at Griffin Hospital, until the time of her retirement in 1990.  She was a devoted member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Oxford where she sat on the Church Council, was a member of the Ladies Guild and Choir (singing in many Christmas Cantatas) and taught Sunday School.  She is survived by her devoted daughters, Lisa (Greg) Dorosh of Seymour and Marsha Wehrle of CA; a brother, Fred Nolan of TX; cherished grandchildren Rachel and Jenna Dorosh of Seymour; Charles Wehrle of Spain and Anthony Wehrle of CA; as well as 5 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her first husband, Clifford White; brothers, Tom, Paul, John, Skippy and Willian Nolan; and sisters, Rhoda Leet, Dorothy Zaniboni and Margaret Shepard.  Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  Private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk at the convenience of the family.  Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening, from 4:00 to 6:30 PM, prior to the service.  The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Shady Knoll for their compassionate care extended to Florence in her time of need.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.jdrf.org.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
