Obituary of Gabriel P. Leclerc

Gabriel P. Leclerc, age 93, beloved husband of Sonia Carreras Leclerc of Shelton, died peacefully at the Beacon Brook Health Care Center, Naugatuck, on Saturday, February 24, 2018.  Born in Jay, NY on May 19, 1924, he was the son of the late Gerald and Blanche Leclerc.  Mr. Leclerc was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and longtime resident of Beacon Falls, where he was a communicant of St. Michael Church.  He worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for many companies, retiring from Sikorsky Aircraft Co. in 1989.  He was an avid golfer, often found at Fairchild Wheeler, Orange Hills or Whitney Farms Country Clubs.  A Member of the American Legion and the Ansonia Senior Center, Mr. Leclerc would enjoy shooting a game of billiards.  In addition to his wife of 39 years, he is survived by a son Gary Leclerc and a daughter, Deborah Wargo; four step-daughters; a sister, Frances Anasta of Fairfield; 10 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by 8 brothers and 4 sisters.  A Mass of Christian Burial, meeting directly at church, will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 1, 2018, in St. Michael Church, 25 Maple Avenue, Beacon Falls.  Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the CT State Veteran’s Cemetery, Middletown.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Doyle Senior Center, 153 Main St., Ansonia, CT 06401.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
