Obituary of Dennis Peter Kisyk

Dennis Peter Kisyk, age 65 of Wilmington, North Carolina, and formerly of Derby, died peacefully in his home on February 8, 2018, with his loving companion, Nancy Hancock, by his side.  Born in Derby on May 24, 1952, he was the son of the late Peter and Gertrude Dorosh Kisyk.  Mr. Kisyk was a graduate of Derby High School and earned a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of New Haven.  He worked in the aircraft manufacturing industry for over 36 years before retiring to North Carolina in 2015.  “Kis” was also a Past Captain of the Storm Engine Company No. 2 of Derby.  In addition to his beloved companion Nancy, he is survived by his daughter Meagan Camara and cherished grandchildren, Luke and Julianna Camara of Derby; his son Dennis Kisyk, Jr. and daughter-in-law Alison Cuffari of New York, New York; his sister and brother-in-law Diane and Jeffrey Lawlor and his nephew Ryan Lawlor of Ansonia; his uncle Adolph “Mizeu” Dorosh and his beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, Armando Camara, Jr. and his uncle Lawrence Dorosh. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Ave., Derby.  Interment in North Carolina will be private. Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Luke and Juliana Camara Education Trust, C/O Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home.  Online Condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
