Obituary of Patricia M. Sovitsky

Patricia Marston Sovitsky, 71, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 18, 2018, with her family by her side. Patricia was born August 27, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, to the late George and Claire (Stanford) Marston, and was a longtime resident of Apple Valley, California.  She was graduated from Seymour High School in Seymour in 1964.  In 1968, she married her former spouse, George “Alex” Sovitsky, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. Together, they traveled throughout Europe while raising three children before settling in California. She worked at various occupations throughout her life; the most important being homemaker.  She found her passions in oil painting, collecting and restoring antiques, reading volumes of historical books covering a multitude of topics, and spending time with dear friends at a local doughnut shop.  She enjoyed time with family and never missed a special occasion.  She valued life and created the most magnificent museum within her home. Patricia will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Besides her son, Mark, of San Diego, California, her son, Michael and his wife Jennifer, of Gig Harbor, Washington, and her daughter, Marie, of Apple Valley, California, she leaves behind her grandchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth, Abigail, Amanda and Matthew Nelson, Baylee and Brooklyn Sovitsky, and Nicole Redway. She is also survived by her brother, Glenn Marston and his wife, Joyce, of Wallingford, Connecticut, and their children, Erin (Soprano) and Carey (Kegel). Also surviving Patricia is her sister, Donna (Cirkot) and her husband, Don of Seymour, Connecticut, and their children, Kristen and Arthur. A private, graveside memorial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia, Connecticut at the convenience of the family.
