Obituary of Josephine Cyrul
Josephine Martiska Cyrul, age 94 of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Roman Cyrul, died January 10, 2018, peacefully at Shady Knoll Health Center. Born March 25, 1923, in Derby, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Anna (Magera) Martiska. Mrs. Cyrul worked for many years as a secretary for Chance Vought of Stratford, B.F. Goodrich of Shelton, and later the Farrel Co. of Ansonia. She was a devoted, lifelong parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Mother’s Club as well as serving as the church secretary for many years. Mrs. Cyrul enjoyed being home with her family and will be truly missed by all. She is survived by her devoted son, Daniel Cyrul, Sr. and his wife Margaret of Seymour; three cherished grandchildren; Katherine (Greg) Frischmann of Alexandria, VA, Kristine Yoxall and her husband David of Prospect, and Daniel Cyrul, Jr. of Seymour; great grandchildren, Samuel and Elias Frischmann, Jack and Ellie Yoxall, and Josephine Cyrul (her namesake); as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Stephanie Koncevich and Olga Zachariewicz; and brother, John Martiska. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 11:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Avenue, Ansonia. Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to Mass. Springtime Interment will be in St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery, Derby. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Church Stain Glass Restoration.
