Obituary of Eleanor Zanowiak
Eleanor “Nora” Zanowiak, age 95 of Ansonia, died peacefully in the comfort of her home on January 8, 2018. Born in Shelton on February 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Agretyna Hudio Zanowiak. Miss Zanowiak was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and a member of the Ansonia Senior Center. She worked for the former Wire Novelty Co. for over 25 years, until the time of her retirement in 1975. She is survived by a devoted niece, Jill Romanoke and her husband, Liam Keane of New Hampshire; a great-niece, Tracey Robinson of Glastonbury and a great-nephew, David Robinson of NJ. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Lilyan Nicosia, Ann Romanoke and Mary Rogers; and a niece, Jonna Robinson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 12, 2018 in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Springtime interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Derby. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.
