Obituary of Carolyn M. Laskowski
Carolyn M. Laskowski, age 80 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Chester F. Laskowski, died peacefully on January 1, 2018 at Griffin hospital with her family by her side. Born in Derby on October 5, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Olga Cherowski Morosko. Mrs. Laskowski was a lifelong valley resident and member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church. She worked as an accountant for the former Beazley Real Estate Agency for many years in the Shelton and New Haven offices. Together with her husband, she enjoyed bowling, pinochle, and most of all polka dancing and attending numerous polka festivals near and far. Mrs. Laskowski was a dedicated volunteer at Sts. Peter and Paul school where she crafted and sewed traditional Ukrainian costumes, made sets and back drops for school productions, as well as teaching art to the students. For many years, and again with her husband, Mrs. Laskowski decorated Sts. Peter and Paul Church for the holidays, especially Christmas and Easter. She dutifully maintained the altar flowers and her efforts were recognized and appreciated by the parish. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Carol Chebro of Ansonia, Connie (Albert) Rohe of Shelton, and Christine (Richard) Bowen of Collinsville; five cherished grandchildren, Chester, Jennifer and Taylor Chebro; Laurie Hartis and Albert Rohe. In addition to her parents and husband of 54 years, she was predeceased by an infant sister, Judith Morosko. A Panikhida service will take place on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 5:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will be private.
