Obituary of Charles Migani
Charles Migani, age 87 of Seymour, beloved husband of the late Helen Ajello Migani, died peacefully in his home on June 20, 2017. Born in Ansonia on August 25, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles and Nazzarena Zaccagni Migani. Mr. Migani was a graduate of Pine High School and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Together with his brother, he owned and operated the family business, Charles Migani & Sons Masonry Contractors for over 60 years, until the time of his retirement in 2004. He was a swimming instructor and volunteer for the Ansonia YMCA for 65 years and proud that he taught many Ansonia Police officers how to swim. A Seymour resident for many years, he served his community as a volunteer fire fighter with the Great Hill Hose Co. for 55 years, a 50 year member of the Seymour Grange and was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd for over 50 years, dutifully serving the parish as an usher. Known to many in the valley as “Uncle Charlie”, he would always have a candy to pass and a smile to share. In his leisure time, Mr. Migani enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming, gardening and spending many summers in Cape Cod with his family. As a grandfather, his greatest joy was spending treasured time with his grandchildren, supporting and encouraging each one in their sporting endeavors. He is survived by his devoted sons, David (Lisa) Migani of Orange and James Migani of FL; cherished grandchildren, David, Christopher & Nicholas Migani and Cassandra Kiley; a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Kiley. In addition to his wife of 62 years, he was predeceased by his brothers, Reno, Andrew, and Henry Migani and sisters, Jenny Sylvester, Josephine Lenahan, Rose Hammill and Mary Atwater. A Mass of Christian Burial (meeting directly at church) will be celebrated on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 9:00 AM in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Sunday, June 25, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
