Obituary of Tanya L. Newcomb

Tanya L. Newcomb, age 58 of Derby, formerly of Ansonia, died March 31, 2017, at home following a sudden illness. Born in Farmville, VA on June 14, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Mary Clark Newcomb. Tanya was a longtime resident of Ansonia before moving to Derby less than a year ago. She was a graduate of The Foundation School of Orange and was a member of the Valley Social Club. Tanya could often be found shopping at her favorite store, “My Sister’s Place” of Ansonia. She is survived by her uncle, James (Joann) Clark of Maine; a cousin, Garry (Carol) Desjardins of Wallingford and their sons Dave (Katie) and Jonathan; as well as all her friends at BH Care and the Valley Social Club. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandmother, Mae Clark Swift, and by her dear friend and companion, Tony Kurdziel. A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 2:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
