Obituary of Susan C. Trovarelli
Susan Carey Trovarelli - age 63, beloved wife of John Trovarelli of Derby, died peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Derby on June 9, 1953, she was the daughter of James Carey of Shelton and the late Barbara Stanko Carey. Mrs. Trovarelli was a graduate of Shelton High School, earned her BA from CCSU and a MA from SCSU. She was a teacher at East Catholic High School and the Amity School System. She later became a librarian/media specialist, first at Lauralton Hall High School, and then returning to Amity for the remainder of her career. She was a lifelong Communicant of St. Joseph Church, Shelton where she was a member of the Rosary Society and active carnival volunteer. She enjoyed traveling to many destinations, including London and Paris, but Disney World was always her favorite. Mrs. Trovarelli enjoyed musicals, the theater and was a season ticket holder to Center Stage of Shelton. Little did she know her hobbies of quilting and scrapbooking will forever be a treasured part of her family’s legacy. Above all things, Mrs. Trovarelli adored her grandchildren and family. In addition to her father and husband of 35 years, she is survived by her devoted sons of whom she was so proud, David (Julie) Trovarelli of Seymour and Christopher Trovarelli of Newington; sisters, Lynn (Randy) Chamberland of Shelton, Ann (Christopher) Seitter of MA, Judith (Timothy) Ahearn of Bethany; brothers, James (Linda) Carey, Jr. of Simsbury, and Thomas Carey of Ansonia; cherished grandchildren, Bennett and Kensley Trovarelli of Seymour; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial, MEETING DIRECTLY AT CHURCH, will be celebrated on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 16, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia.
