Obituary of John Albert Sabol

John Albert Sabol, age 72, beloved husband of Doreen M. Orlovsky Sabol of Shelton, died peacefully on March 16, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.  Born in Bridgeport on August 22, 1945, he was the son of the late John W. and Lottie Urban Sabol. Mr. Sabol was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the 7th Army, 1st Battalion, 81st Field Artillery Regiment, the first Army Pershing Missile Battery in Europe.  He was a volunteer for the State of CT Selective Service for 19 years.  Mr. Sabol was employed for 20 years at the former Remington Arms Co. and was then employed at Sikorsky Co., working in the tool crib of the exclusive Presidential Hangar for 25 years until his retirement in 2014. He enjoyed fishing with the Trout Unlimited Fishing Club of Bridgeport and will be long remembered for his special love for his family. In addition to his beloved wife of 27 years, he is survived by son, Justin (Denise) Sabol of PA; daughter, Melanie (fiancé Christopher Kagey) Sabol of Shelton; sister, Nancy B. Sabol of Shelton; cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Charlotte and Jamison Sabol of PA; as well as many cousins and dear friends.  A Mass of Christian Burial (Meeting Directly at Church) will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Avenue, Shelton.  Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
