Obituary of Mary Breyan

Mary Breyan, age 94 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late John Breyan, died peacefully on December 16, 2017 at Griffin Hospital.  Born in Ansonia on November 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Hosko Fichura.  Mrs. Breyan was a homemaker and lifelong devout member of Three Saints Orthodox Church.  She is survived by her devoted children, Carol (Steven) Zavednak of Seymour, Maureen (Robert Brierton) Breyan of East Hartford and John (Irene Gabb) Breyan of LI, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by sisters, Anna Garofolo and Julie Prokop; and brothers, Michael, Peter, and Andrew Fichura.  The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Odessa Evans for her compassionate care given to Mrs. Breyan in her time of need.  Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia.  Springtime interment will be in Three Saints Cemetery, Derby.  Family and friends may call at church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Three Saints Maintenance Trust.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia is in care of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
