Obituary of Dorothy E. Folta

Dorothy E. Folta, age 93 of Derby, beloved wife of the late Stanley H. Folta, died peacefully on April 29, 2016 at Masonicare, Wallingford, with her family by her side. Born in Derby on March 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Matusovich Vincent. A graduate of Shelton High School, she returned to further her education at Sacred Heart University, earning an Associate’s Degree at age 60. Mrs. Folta worked as a secretary for the U.S. Government at during WWII. She then worked for the Avco-Lycoming and Sikorsky Companies, until the time of her retirement. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael Church, Derby and member of the Ansonia, Derby, Shelton and Orange Senior Centers. She is survived by her devoted children, Stanley (Donna) Folta of Ansonia, Daniel (Diane) Folta of Cheshire and Diane (John) O’Rourke of Milford; 6 cherished grandchildren; 3 cherished great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Horbal and brothers, Theodore, Joseph, Andrew and John Vincent. At Mrs. Folta’s request, all funeral services are private.
