Obituary of Walter Joseph Sadlon

SADLON - Walter Joseph Sadlon, age 92 of Gilbert, AZ, beloved husband of Helen Bashar Sadlon, died peacefully on September 19, 2015, surrounded by his family at the Sunrise of Gilbert Health Care Center. Born in Ansonia on July 17, 1923, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Stanislawczyk Sadlon. Mr. Sadlon was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and resident of Shelton for many years before moving to AZ in 2011. He worked as an assembler for the Sikorsky Co. for over 37 years, prior to his retirement in 1984. Mr. Sadlon was a member of the Sikorsky Retiree and Garden clubs as well as a long time Communicant of St. Michael Church, Derby. Together with his wife, sister-in-law, Irene Bashar Panuczak and her husband, Francis “Pooch” of Shelton, he could often be found enjoying Polish festivals, Polka dances and various church functions. He was an avid boater, an active swimmer and will be long remembered for his dedication and love for his family. In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Patricia A. Juhasz and her husband, Frank “Ronnie” of Casa Grande, AZ and Gary W. Sadlon and his wife, Elaine of Gilbert, AZ; Step-sister, Cecelia Swetz of Beacon Falls; cherished grandchildren, Eric Juhasz and his wife, Evana of Naugatuck, Todd Juhasz and his wife, Anna of Ft. Collins, CO, Brian and Michelle Sadlon, both of Gilbert, AZ; great-grandchildren, Hunter Juhasz, Evelyn Juhasz, and Mara Sadlon; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sadlon was predeceased by his twin sister, Frances Moran and brothers, John, Joseph and Michael Sadlon and a step-brother, Eugene Bernal. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 25, 2015, at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, Stratford.
