Obituary of Helena Pawlyk

PAWLYK- Helena Pawlyk, age 79, beloved wife of Michael Pawlyk, died peacefully March 15, 2008 in her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Zdinia, Poland on March 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Maria Spiak Lypen. Mrs. Pawlyk was a homemaker and a long time parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ansonia. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting and sewing. In addition to her husband of 44 years, she is survived by her devoted sons, Michael Pawlyk of Ansonia and Peter Pawlyk of Naugatuck; brothers, Jacob Lypen and his wife Barbara of Ansonia, Peter Lypen and his wife, Luba of Derby; sisters, Anna and Melania Lypen, both of Ansonia; as well as two nieces and two nephews. Mrs. Pawlyk was predeceased by a sister, Martha Durkot. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 9:15 AM, from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Monday (TODAY), March 17, 2008, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM; Parastas Service will be held at 6:30PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Preservation Fund of Sts.
