Obituary of Alice Chucta

Chucta- Alice Chucta, age 79, beloved wife of Stephen Chucta of Seymour, died March 11, 2008 in Griffin Hospital Derby. Born in Derby on August 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence Tuz Kuziak. Mrs. Chucta was a lifelong valley resident and together with her husband, operated the Chucta Family Farm. Mrs. Chucta also worked as a waitress for the former Rapps Paradise Inn for over 30 years, until the time of her retirement. She was a talented puzzle maker, assembling murals with 1000s of pieces. She also enjoyed gardening, golf, traveling, and was an avid NY Mets fan. In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her devoted children, Stephen Chucta and his wife, Doreen of Seymour and Debra Bekish and her husband, John of Southington; sisters, Martha Styfco of Shelton and Anne Hawter of MD; three cherished grandchildren, Jaisun, Stephen and Erica Chucta; as well as cherished great-grandchildren, Lani, Jaisun, Jr. and Harlen Chucta. Mrs. Chucta was predeceased by sisters Esther Canfield and Helen Kubovic and brothers Alex and John Kuziak. The memory of Alices gentle, caring, loving nature will live on and continue to inspire others. Funeral services will take place from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 9:15 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Friday, March 14, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
