Peter John Kott, age 64, a loving son, brother and uncle, of East Haven, died peacefully at home on Friday, February 23, 2018. Born in Derby, he was the son of the late John P. and Antoinette Jurkiewicz Kott. Peter was raised in Ansonia and was a 1971 graduate of Ansonia High School and graduate of Waterbury State Technical College with an A.S. and Southern CT State University with a B.S. in History. He enjoyed a long career as a security specialist for Sargent Assa Abloy for over 20 years, striving to make schools and commercial buildings safe and secure environments. Peter was a voracious reader of literature and poetry; he possessed an ardent devotion for Rudyard Kipling’s IF and for world history, having particular interest in WWII and had planned to visit Normandy, France. A passionate motorcycle enthusiast, he would ride his Harley Davidson in local rallies and runs. Peter held dear memories of attending Yankee baseball games with his father as a boy, which established his lifelong dedication to his favorite team. He will be long remembered for his great sense of humor and his ability to tell stories with his knack of personal embellishments. He earned the respect of many and was loved by all who knew him. Mr. Kott is survived by his devoted sisters, Julie (Walt) Ploski of NY, Paula (David) Harlow of NH, Diane (Stephen) Fugale of PA and Monica Kott of New Haven; several cherished nieces, nephews; as well as great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many dear friends, including Tom Blake of Milford, Terry O'Brien of Branford and Patty Crisco-Denicola of Branford. A Celebration of Peter’s Life will be announced in the future, interment will be private.
