Genevieve “Jenny” Sadlik, age 95, of Derby, beloved wife of the late Walter Sadlik, died peacefully on January 20, 2018 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Derby on October 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary Bajor. Mrs. Sadlik was a lifelong resident of Derby and member of St. Michael Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society & Mother’s Club while raising her children. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Carreau-Smith Stock Exchange of Derby and as a seamstress for Sikorsky Aircraft; but her primary occupation was that of a home maker, a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Sadlik regularly viewed the TV Mass, enjoyed watching the UCONN Girls Basketball and will be long remembered for her special love for her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Robert Sadlik of Derby, MaryAnn (Val) Imbriaco of NJ, Catherine (Jay) Sullivan of Oxford and Barbara (Bruce) Eye of Oxford; cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Andrea Imbriaco, Tricia Sullivan and Rian (Megan) Sullivan; Jack (Christiana) Degnan and Krislyn Degnan; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 60 years, she was predeceased by brothers, Peter, Stanley, Edward and Frederick Bajor and sisters, Veronica Jordan, Stella Guidi and Sophie Brown. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 9:30 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM in St. Michael Church, Derby. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
